making social matter...for your business.
what's the number one question we get asked with respect to social media marketing? "how do i grow my social streams organically and make them work for my business?". and what a critical question that is. the overarching answer is two fold actually.
part 1, be the king of your content. social media marketing more so than any other marketing stream is all about visuals. the way to get on top is to own and control branded, kick-ass content that's relevant to and will grab the attention of your target audience and that will standout within your industry. a pretty picture is only half the battle. how unique are your images? what type of emotions do they elicit in your ideal customer? are they in line with who you are, with your brand messaging?
and so naturally comes part 2, fully understand the marketplace you play in. immerse yourself in among all your successful competitors and remember that above all, you all make up a community. interact with them and show some love. engage with their content and pay recognition to the visuals that deserve it. make sure that your own visual content is suited to what's currently trending, while standing out in the crowd. and finally, make yourself known to, and align yourself with, the influencers in your industry.
case in point. about a month ago we had the honor of capturing images of the social media phenomenon, youtube star, lilly singh, at an event she attended. the event was a hit. she was a pleasure to shoot. and we came away with some great images for our clients (the hosts of the event). naturally we shared one of our resulting images on instagram, as did lilly, and within minutes of lilly's posting our feed exploded. we saw a record high of 1,100 + likes on our image and picked up approx. 150 new faithful followers. that in a nutshell was the power of lilly, an influencer.
so go on. creatively dive into your marketplace, socially schmooze with some influencers, and create some stand out content that's guaranteed to get you noticed.
